YMYL page (health/finance/legal) without reviewedBy / lastReviewed schema

YMYL stands for Your Money or Your Life, Google's term for content covering health, finance or legal topics where inaccurate advice could cause real harm. reviewedBy and lastReviewed are schema fields that record which credentialed expert checked the content and when. This check found a YMYL page on your site with neither field present. Google's Quality Rater Guidelines and AI Overviews both explicitly favour expert-reviewed YMYL content when deciding what to surface for high-stakes queries. Without reviewedBy and lastReviewed, your content is less likely to appear in AI answers for exactly the kind of queries where being cited matters most: health, finance and legal questions people take seriously. Your content and legal team need about 1 day per page. Add WebPage JSON-LD with reviewedBy, naming a Person with their name and jobTitle, and lastReviewed in ISO date format. Have a genuinely credentialed expert actually sign off on the content, and display their name visibly on the page itself, not just in the schema. Set a review cadence: quarterly for finance content, biannually for evergreen health content.

Why this matters

Google's Quality Rater Guidelines and AI Overviews both explicitly favour expert-reviewed YMYL content when deciding what to surface for high-stakes queries. Without reviewedBy and lastReviewed, your content is less likely to appear in AI answers for exactly the kind of queries where being cited matters most: health, finance and legal questions people take seriously.

How to fix it

Your content and legal team need about 1 day per page. Add WebPage JSON-LD with reviewedBy, naming a Person with their name and jobTitle, and lastReviewed in ISO date format. Have a genuinely credentialed expert actually sign off on the content, and display their name visibly on the page itself, not just in the schema. Set a review cadence: quarterly for finance content, biannually for evergreen health content.
