Pages missing an H1

An H1 is the single main headline of a page, marked up in the underlying code so that search engines and screen readers recognise it as the most important heading. Each page should have exactly one H1. Search engines use the H1 to understand what a page is about when deciding where to rank it. Screen readers used by visually impaired visitors also rely on the H1 to navigate. Missing or multiple H1s weaken both search visibility and accessibility. Add one clear H1 to each page that describes its main topic. For example, the services page H1 might be "Digital marketing services for Australian businesses." Use only one H1 per page; use H2s and H3s for subsections.

Why this matters

Search engines use the H1 to understand what a page is about when deciding where to rank it. Screen readers used by visually impaired visitors also rely on the H1 to navigate. Missing or multiple H1s weaken both search visibility and accessibility.

How to fix it

Add one clear H1 to each page that describes its main topic. For example, the services page H1 might be "Digital marketing services for Australian businesses." Use only one H1 per page; use H2s and H3s for subsections.
