Heavy tracker site without IAB TCF v2.2 framework

IAB TCF (Interactive Advertising Bureau Transparency and Consent Framework) is an industry-standard format for recording and communicating a visitor's consent choices, used by more than 1,500 ad-technology vendors. This check flags sites running many advertising and marketing trackers that haven't adopted this framework. On this site, a heavy volume of trackers was detected, but no IAB TCF v2.2 setup was found. Without a shared standard like TCF, each ad vendor has to be told about consent choices individually, which becomes a growing maintenance burden as more trackers get added over time, and makes it harder to prove exactly what consent was recorded if a vendor is ever questioned. It matters most for sites running programmatic advertising, where dozens of vendors may be involved. Your marketing team and developer should move to a consent management platform (CMP) that supports IAB TCF v2.2, such as Sourcepoint, OneTrust, Didomi, or Quantcast Choice, which is especially worthwhile if the site runs programmatic advertising. This is a larger project than most fixes in this audit, typically around a day of setup plus vendor configuration.

Why this matters

Without a shared standard like TCF, each ad vendor has to be told about consent choices individually, which becomes a growing maintenance burden as more trackers get added over time, and makes it harder to prove exactly what consent was recorded if a vendor is ever questioned. It matters most for sites running programmatic advertising, where dozens of vendors may be involved.

How to fix it

Your marketing team and developer should move to a consent management platform (CMP) that supports IAB TCF v2.2, such as Sourcepoint, OneTrust, Didomi, or Quantcast Choice, which is especially worthwhile if the site runs programmatic advertising. This is a larger project than most fixes in this audit, typically around a day of setup plus vendor configuration.
