Pinterest linked but no Rich Pin metadata detected

Rich Pins are a Pinterest feature that pulls live details, like price, availability or a recipe, directly from your website into the pin itself, using the same kind of Open Graph markup used for social sharing generally. This site has a Pinterest profile linked but none of that markup in place, so pins from this site currently show only an image with no extra detail attached. Rich Pins get two to three times the click-through rate of a plain image pin, because they show useful extra detail directly on the pin without the viewer needing to click through first. Every pin made from this site right now competes at the lower, plain-image rate against competitors whose pins already carry live price or product detail. Your developer should add Open Graph Product, Article or Recipe markup, whichever fits the page type, and then validate it using Pinterest's own Rich Pin Validator tool. This is a one-time setup of one to two hours; once Pinterest approves it, every future pin from your domain becomes a Rich Pin automatically with no extra work per pin.

Why this matters

Rich Pins get two to three times the click-through rate of a plain image pin, because they show useful extra detail directly on the pin without the viewer needing to click through first. Every pin made from this site right now competes at the lower, plain-image rate against competitors whose pins already carry live price or product detail.

How to fix it

Your developer should add Open Graph Product, Article or Recipe markup, whichever fits the page type, and then validate it using Pinterest's own Rich Pin Validator tool. This is a one-time setup of one to two hours; once Pinterest approves it, every future pin from your domain becomes a Rich Pin automatically with no extra work per pin.
