AI-generated content signals detected but no AI disclosure policy

This check looks for signals that content on the site, such as imagery, copy or chat, was created with AI, and then checks whether there's a policy anywhere disclosing that. This site was flagged as having AI-generated content signals but no AI disclosure policy or page explaining where AI is used in producing its content. The EU AI Act, a piece of European Union law, requires AI-generated content to be labelled by August 2026, and regulators including the US FTC, the UK's ASA and Australia's ACCC already treat undisclosed AI content as a form of deceptive advertising. Brands without a disclosure risk fines under that legislation as well as a loss of visitor trust if the AI origin of content is discovered rather than disclosed upfront. Your legal and marketing teams should add a short disclosure to your About or Privacy page along the lines of 'Some content on this site is AI-assisted and reviewed by humans before publication', and label individual AI-generated images with a caption or watermark where they appear. The core disclosure line takes about an hour to write and publish, well ahead of the legal deadline.
